Sad Alien - Update I - Retopology
I’ve decided to create whole body of Sad Alien. So there was a need to add base mesh for body to head sculpt. And I also wanted to learn who to retopologize models in ZBrush. I’ve done it today. In the image you can see old sculpt from sphere and also new retopologized mesh. I must say that retopology in ZBrush is really great tool, sometimes it’s little bit hard to work with it, but you can settle in that in a short time. I’ll bring you new updated soon, I hope. I’m going to model basemesh for body and start sculpting whole alien.

Yesterday I had holiday between classes with Alex and I had taste to sculpt something. Something like a bust of alien to test texturing, shading and rendering. I was looking for some concepts and I found awsome concept art from famous Carlos Huante. I love this alien. I’ve started to sculpt his head from simple sphere. In a picture you can see progress after 2 hours. I think I’ll sculpt whole alien in my spare time. I hope you like my new WIP called Sad Alien.

A month ago I visited Zoo here in Prague. My friend loocas duber lent me his Canon 400D with Sigma 17-70mm. This was first time when I have DSRL in my hands, so photos are not perfect. But I hope you like them. Click photo to visit gallery.

It is only small update today. I sculpted this arm from basemesh created by Alex. It’s still in progress, so everything can be changed. I only wanted to post some update.

Yesterday, we finished skull to face sculpt. As you know skull is from simple plane and that face is sculpted as a layer at subdivide 5. At movie you can see layer morph. In future I’m going to finish the face, add more details etc. I hope you like it.

We had some connection problems with Alex during last class, so we decided to move it to this Thuesday. For class six I’ve finished skull, which we will cover with flesh and skin and resculpt a face on class six. This sculpt from single plane took me about 3-4 hours. I hope you like it.

There are again two sculpts. First one is base of torso, made from simple polysphere. It’s not finished yet. We will finish it in future class. Second one is skull, sculpted from simple plane. It’s not finished either. We will finish the skull and then we will cover it with flesh and create male face. You can find Alex sculpt at his sketchbook at ZBrushCentral.

As I promised, here are sculpts from online class with Alex Oliver. First one is head sculpted with Alex’s online corrections. Second one is my homework checked today by Alex. Both heads are sculpted from simple sphere. And last head is today work. It was sculpted from plane. I sculpted every piece approximately in one and half hour. I hope you like them and I hope I’m getting better.
