Sad Alien - Update II - Body base

Here is a tiny update on Sad Alien. I wanted to start body and I discovered that I’m lazy to do some serious quality modeling in XSI, so I’ve created very very simple basemesh, like Alex’s was for body lesson, and I’ve started to sketch body in ZBrush. It’s easier, faster and more funny for me. Then I’m going to retopologize body and connect both sculpts, body and head, together. I’ll bring you another updates soon, I hope.

Class with Alex Oliver IX - Update 02

Before deadline of project at UPP, I’ve found time to return to my sculpt. Here is little head progress  and some tweaks of torso. You can also see subdivisions progress in animated gif. Model is on subdivision 7 and it has about 6.5 milion polygons, I don’t think that it’s final number. I hope that you like progress. If you have some comments, feel free to leave them under this post.

Class with Alex Oliver IX -Update 01

Here it is, as I promised. I want to show you my sculpt from Alex Oliver’s online class. It’s really really tough stuff for me. There is a lot of work to do on it, it’ll be very detailed model. I hope that I’ll be able to finish it in some passable way and it’ll be high-quality sculpt. At the picture you can see progress after few hours and also basemesh.

Here is another update. It isn’t the newest class with Alex. This leg is sculpted from a box basemesh. I know that it’s not perfect. Now I’m working on whole character with Alex, so I think legs should be better.

Sad Alien - Update I - Retopology

I’ve decided to create whole body of Sad Alien. So there was a need to add base mesh for body to head sculpt. And I also wanted to learn who to retopologize models in ZBrush. I’ve done it today. In the image you can see old sculpt from sphere and also new retopologized mesh. I must say that retopology in ZBrush is really great tool, sometimes it’s little bit hard to work with it, but you can settle in that in a short time. I’ll bring you new updated soon, I hope. I’m going to model basemesh for body and start sculpting whole alien.
